A Hope and a Future
Jeremiah 29:1, 4-13: David Thomas (05.11.08) - 8:30, 9:45, 11:15 & 5:15

"Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams" Acts 2:17

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Acts 2:1-4

As we come to celebrate our 100th birthday, we find ourselves involved in the largest building program to date. ... More than three quarters of a million dollars have gone into developing our physical plant. We feel that a part of Centenary's greatness comes from the fact that she is a young church, and has the stability of a mature church. As we look back across the century which is behind us, we believe that Centenary has stood as a fitting memorial to Methodism's first century in America. However, we do not believe her best years are behind her, for we dare believe that the best is yet to be. - Clayton Cox, from a brief history of Centenary, written in 1966, marking our 100th anniversary as a church

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you ... Jeremiah 29:7

"You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." Matthew 5:14-16 [NLT]

My Story

You will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. Jeremiah 29:12

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Ephesians 6:18

Be sure to pray that God will make a way for us to spread his message ... Colossians 4:3 [CEV]
