Music Ministries Ensembles

Chancel Choir

This vocal ensemble provides special musical support for worship and seasonal musical events. Comprised of men and women in a traditional SATB setting, the Chancel Choir is open to musically experienced youth in high school through adults of all ages, and sings a wide range of sacred music from classical to modern styles. No audition is required. Typically, the Chancel Choir rehearses weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00pm. Directed by Scott Heersche and accompanied by Richard Dwyer, the ensemble is a prayer centered family of believers who are passionate about God and singing His praises in worship. Winter 2008 rehearsals started 01.02.08 in the Choir Room; however, you may join at any time. On most Sundays, the Chancel Choir will provide worship music for the first (8:30am) and third (11:15am) services.

Truth Youth Choir and Unity Choir

Centenary's Truth Choir, provides opportunities for youth between the 6th and 12th grades to share their musical gifts. The Truth Choir sings in worship monthly, and joins with the neighboring Immanuel Baptist youth choir each January forming the Unity Choir. The 60 member Unity Choir tours each June, providing an energetic program filled with song, drama, and a fresh presentation of the truth of Christ's love for all. The youth choir rehearses Sundays at 4:30pm.

Hand Bell Choir

The Hand Bell Choir, directed by Richard Dwyer, regularly enhances the worship experience at Centenary with the uniquely beautiful sounds of English hand bells. Ringing 5+ octaves of Malmark bells and chimes, the ensemble is comprised of experienced youth up through adults. The ability to read music is preferred, along with a desire to share your gifts of music to the glory of God. Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings in the Sanctuary from 6:15 to 7:15pm.

Praise Team

Comprised of a rhythm section and four-piece vocal ensemble, the Praise team anchors worship music on Sunday mornings. Led by Worship & Music Associate, Phil Jackson, the Praise Teams include many different musicians who rotate their service on a weekly basis. Drummers, guitarists, and bass players can find an avenue through which to share their gifts of music in worship. Rehearsals for Praise Team occur on Sunday mornings at 9:00am.
