Worship at Centenary
Sunday Worship Services
8:30 Traditional Service (Sanctuary)
This service draws from the rich body of United Methodist traditions, music, and liturgy while seeking God's presence and the restoration power of the Holy Spirit. Music for this service is anchored by Centenary's Choirs and beautiful Reuter pipe organ.
9:45 & 11:15 Kingdom Services (Sanctuary)
Weaving together ancient and modern and global worship elements, our blended services seek to draw together all that we understand about authentic worship as it is described in the Kingdom of Heaven. The choirs, praise band, and pipe organ combine to create an energetic and God led worship experience.
The 5:15 Service (Foundry)
Beginning September 9th, this service is a new addition to the life of worship at Centenary! It has grown out of a desire by many within our church who wish for a more intimate, less formal, freely expressive encounter with the living God. [More....]
Wednesday Service
Ekklesia (9pm, Chapel)
This service has grown out of the life of our college-aged ministries. It is a freely structured service experience filled with prayer, and an over-arching desire to be in God's presence. [More....]
Centenary's Worship Values
Psalm 100 proclaims...
On your feet now-applaud GOD! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence. Know this: GOD is God, and God, GOD. He made us; we didn't make him. We're his people, his well-tended sheep. Enter with the password: "Thank you!" Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank him. Worship him. For GOD is sheer beauty, all-generous in love, loyal always and ever. -The Message
Worship is our lifestyle. Worship is central to our daily lives at Centenary.
So, whatever you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything to the glory of God... (I Cor. 10:31)
We invite you to join us in this attitude of praise as we proclaim the greatness of Father God, claim the saving grace bought for us through Jesus Christ, and seek renewal through the power of the Holy Spirit.
We come together during four Sunday worship services each week, unifying our hearts with the hosts of heaven as we magnify God's glory through song, prayer, and the Word. At Centenary, worship is God centered and Bible based. We come to meet Jesus in our sanctuary, and seek the vertical connection between heaven and earth which comes from bowing before His throne. We come to give thanks for His many blessings. We come to seek healing and restoration. We come to learn more, to know Him more, and to see His face.
We come out of obedience to His commands. And, we come to find fellowship with a community that is bound together by God's love.
Worship is also a vital part of the service and ministry life of our congregation. If you are passionate about praise, and have a desire to serve through worship, we invite you to prayerfully consider the many opportunities for service available to all age levels...
