Did you know that there is a prayer ministry team at Centenary? Did you know that this team responds to requests for prayer and provides leadership and training in the area of prayer? The team does lots of other things also and that's why we're asking ...
Did you know ...
- that a Prayer Ministry Team meets monthly to seek God's heart for coordinating and undergirding prayer activities at Centenary?
- that the Prayer Center, in the foyer, is stocked with many tracts and prayer guides to enrich your prayer life, and articles are placed there each week related to the Sunday sermon theme?
- that prayer request cards are available in the sanctuary pews and requests can be written and placed in offering plates?
- that prayer collection boxes are located by the Prayer Center in the foyer, in the Administration Area, entrance to the CLC (outside the gym) and in the Youth Lounge on the 2nd floor?
- that all prayer cards are collected after Sunday services, including those in the prayer boxes?
- that your prayer requests will be kept confidential and prayed for by volunteer intercessors for three weeks?
- that a typed list of all prayer requests are made available to the Pastoral Staff, who pray over these requests in their Monday afternoon meetings?
- that Centenary's 24 hour prayer line is 277-0887?
- that Centenary publishes a weekly prayer list that is available on Sunday mornings at the entrance to the Sanctuary?
- that Centenary's Prayer Room (located behind the Chapel, with the entrance from the courtyard just opposite the administration entrance) is open daily when the church is open?
- that you can use the Prayer Room for a personal prayer retreat or schedule it for a small group prayer time?
- that the Prayer Room has racks with tracts, books, material with prayer emphasis and published lists of local, national and global needs for use in your prayer time?
- that communion is available in the Prayer Room?
- that at least one person is praying in the Prayer Room during each of the three Sunday worship services, petitioning the Holy Spirit to move in that service, and praying for all the Sunday School classes that are meeting throughout the morning?
- that approximately 20 people have been trained by our pastors, as Altar Prayer Ministers and are available at the end of each Sunday worship service to pray with you?
- that there will be training in October for new Altar Prayer Ministers?
- that on the National Day of Prayer, our Chapel was open during the day for individual and corporate prayer?
- that the first "Church Row Prayer Walk" to commemorate the National Day of Prayer, began at Tates Creek Christian Church, moved to Immanuel Baptist Church and concluded at Centenary?
- that at each church, a minister or lay member led the group in prayer and the event was featured in the Lexington Herald Leader?
- that prayer vigils are organized by the Prayer Ministry Team for special occasions, where Centenary members are encouraged to sign up to pray at a particular time, covering the entire 24-hour day?
- that Centenary publishes a list of men and women in the U. S. Military who are fighting the war against terrorism? The names are provided to us by members and friends of Centenary, so that prayer can be offered for them.
- that the Prayer Ministry Team writes the Prayer Comer for the Grapevine?
- that Centenary wants to hear from you if you feel a gifting or call to any of the facets of Prayer Ministry. Please call Andee Marks (269-2800 ext. 233).
Prayer: We thank you, Heavenly Father, for the ministry and privilege of prayer. As people consider our Prayer Ministry, may the Holy Spirit lead those who have a gift and calling to join us in making Centenary a House of Prayer. Amen.
