Concert of Prayer
August 21st
7:00pm, Fellowship Hall No. 2
Led by John Criswell, Pastor of Congregational Life
In February 2008, Centenary conducted a Prayer Summit which many people appreciated. As a follow-up to that event, we will conduct these two Concerts of Prayer to further stimulate our commitment to and experience of corporate prayer.
Concerts of Prayer are movements of prayer that focus on spiritual renewal and the evangelization of the world. For about an hour to an hour and a half, those assembled will pray in a variety of ways - in concert with each other and the Bible. This is not your typical prayer meeting where you spend a good portion of the time talking about what you will pray about. With worship and Scripture interspersed, we will dive into prayer and seek all God has for us.
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
Just as an orchestra has various instruments, so we come together under the baton of the Holy Spirit ready to make a beautiful sound before the throne of grace in prayer.
