Kids play. Water Pumps.
Centenary youth help change the world.
Every 15 seconds a child dies of disease related to unsafe drinking water. Playpump.org has come up with a creative solution to the problem of unsafe drinking water. A PlayPump is installed near a local school, and as the children play, clean water is pumped to a community, helping up to 2,500 people. Centenary’s youth are pushing ahead with their goal of raising $14,000 to put a PlayPump in Zambia.
After their week long emphasis, they have collected just over $8,000. UPDATE! GREAT NEWS! The youth have raised just over $17,000 and are well on the way to the possible purchase of a second PlayPump! Contributions will be accepted until they reach their goal.
There are two ways to give:
- Make your check payable to Centenary and indicate on the memo line that it's for playpump. Drop it in the offering or the drop box in the Administration area of the church.
- If your business or company has a matching gift program, you can make your contribution directly to Playpump, International by mailing your check to the address below. Make sure that the check indicates on the memo line that it's for Centenary Church. The Washington office has set up an account for Centenary. Also include a note indicating that your work will match the gift, and the matching gift should also go to the Centenary designation.
Send a check to PlayPumps International US (address below). Donations that are mailed by U.S. taxpayers to PlayPumps International US are tax-deductible. The PlayPumps International Federal ID is 04-3838391.
