The Fingerprint Connection

[Fingerprint Connection] The Fingerprint Connection is the name of a cooperative outreach ministry with the Central Methodist Church of Londrina, Parana, Brazil. The name Fingerprint Connection is derived from a gift given to our mission team by the children of Kilometer 9 (see below) during a Centenary missions trip to Brazil in 1989. The gift was a card filled with the fingerprints and names of many children.

Fingerprint Kids Our team worked in Kilometer 9 during their week in Brazil and during that time grew to love the people they met there but especially the children. Just as their fingerprints reminded our team of the individual children met during that visit, Centenary’s Fingerprint Connection reminds us that each one of us is a unique child of God that the Lord has called to care for his "little ones" around the world.

During the 1989 mission trip, a mission opportunity was identified that is virtually unique -- a shared project of operating a crèche or day care center in a poverty-stricken area of Londrina known as Kilometer 9. Between 80-120 children are being cared for daily with meals, baths, Bible teaching and other needs provided five days per week. Without this daycare, many of these children would be left unattended by their working parents.

Missions Pastor Julie with students at the early childhood center The Fingerprint Connection continues to receive financial support from Centenary.

"and whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple--truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward." (Matthew 10:42 NRSV)
