The Third Heaven: Jesus and Paul

Tiger Woods has won his 14th major title! Probably by now everyone knows he did it virtually on the strength of his right leg. He says it is his greatest win because of what he had to endure to get it. News reporters, talk shows, and magazines are asking: "How did he do it? What makes this man tick?" As much as we know about Tiger, we still search for answers to those questions.

The same can be said of another hero, one who lived almost 2,000 years ago: the Apostle Paul. He has been the subject of hundreds, if not thousands, of books and scholarly articles, yet when he says he was in the "third heaven" we still are not sure what he meant.

To come closer to an answer is what drives this series. We want to know, as much as we can, what makes Paul tick? We know it is the Spirit, but does the Bible tell us more? I am inviting you to come with me on this journey to the heart of Paul. We begin in Paul's teen years, before his fateful meeting with Stephen. Let's go all the way to the "Third Heaven" together.
