Scouting

Scouting at Centenary

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

The Scouts' pledge includes "duty to God and Country" and a Scout Law is "A Scout is Reverent". The Boy Scouts of America have not backed down on the above, fighting successfully all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court for this and for the right of an institution like ours to choose its own adult leaders for youth.

The Scouts have a rich history at Centenary, doing much work behind the scenes, influencing many young lives for the better over the years, introducing many to a church for the first time. Centenary's Boy Scout troop has been continuously sponsored by Centenary for over 55 years, and its Cub Scout Pack has been active continually since 1988.

Both the Cub Scout Pack and the Boy Scout Troup have their own web site:

Cub Scout Pack 73: www.pack73.com

Boy Scout Troop 73: www.troop73.com

Pack and Troop meetings are scheduled on our church calendar, which is updated weekly on this web site.
