Centenary's Heritage

1866 - Centenary Methodist Church organized with 163 charter members. The name "Centenary" was chosen to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Methodism in America when the Kentucky Annual Conference designated Centenary Church as the official Centenary Church of the conference.Centenary: 1866-1955
1945 - Trinity Methodist Church was established to meet the needs of the growing population in South Lexington.Trinity 1945-1955
1955 - Centenary and Trinity Methodist Churches merged and became Centenary Methodist Church located on South Limestone.Centenary 1955
1968 - As a result of The Methodist Church merger with the Evangelical United Brethren Church, the name because Centenary United Methodist Church.
1992 - Centenary relocated to 2800 Tates Creek Road to accommodate growing ministries and membership.Centenary 1992
