According to Pastor Robert Lewis (Fellowship Bible Church-Little Rock), "What men hear at church bores them. It doesn't connect with their masculine spirit." When Pastor Lewis first began a Men's Ministry, he simply offered a traditional Bible study, and a small number of men showed up. But, when he announced that he was going to begin a study on Authentic Manhood, the very first meeting brought out 300 men. Lewis says the key is for men to learn how to pursue "noble masculinity." At Centenary, we want to pursue noble masculinity, not weak-minded boredom. We challenge you to get involved and discover what a Christian man's life is supposed to be all about.

Our Vision For Ministry with Men

Men's Ministry at Centenary exists to strengthen men in living out their faith-at home, at work and in their community. As men we realize it can be a constant struggle to find balance in our lives while we try to keep up with the daily demands of the world. Our Men's Ministry is designed for men who want to grow in their walk with God and in their roles as husbands, fathers, co-workers, employers, friends and community leaders (just to name a few).

The ministry is based primarily on three principles:

  1. All men are called to be "imitators of Christ", who we claim as our Lord and Savior. (see 1 John 2:6)

  2. God's Word is applicable to all aspects of our lives. (See Psalm 119:105)

  3. "As iron sharpens iron", we can learn from shared experiences and grow when we are in relationship with other men. (see Proverbs 27:17)

The Men's Ministry is committed to meeting and uniting with any man, wherever he is concerning his walk toward or with Christ. Many Fellowship and Outreach opportunities are available and forthcoming. Whether it's skeet shooting or building a Habitat for Humanity home, we want to let you know what's going on.
