on The Land

God will give you all the seed you need and make it grow so there will be a great harvest from your goodness.

Several years ago, our church shared in a churchwide visioning effort seeking God's best for everything we do, including the kind of facilities we would need in the future. That visioning produced a plan to adjust our Sunday morning schedule, introduce a second session of Sunday School, start shuttling for parking, build The Foundry, and purchase land. We've done the first four.

Recent Aerial PhotoBack in 2003, some families in our church financed the purchase of a beautiful 100 acre tract of land out Richmond Road so we as a congregation could focus at that time on raising support for The Foundry first. We were able to build that addition and actually lower our debt significantly. And now our church is approaching a time when we have the opportunity to affirm this vision and complete purchase of The Land.

As a part of that approach, the month of March is going to be devoted to conversation as a church family about The Land, about our vision for how ministry and outreach could expand using that additional location as a tool in God's hands. So beginning Sunday, March 9th, we have a scale model of The Land in the Foyer for you to look at with a summary sheet of fresh vision work our ministry teams have been working on.
